XDD staff has been providing risk management services since the early 1980s and has performed Risk-Based Corrective Action (RBCA) type evaluations at sites in volunteer, RCRA and CERCLA regulatory programs.
XDD Risk Management capabilities include:
- Expertise in evaluating exposure pathways due to our intimate knowledge of fate and transport mechanisms of contaminants in both the vadose and saturated zone.
- Determination of site-specific closure criteria using recognized methodologies as prescribed by state or federal agencies, e.g., incorporating site-specific land use (residential vs. industrial) and contaminant/geological characteristics.
- Calculation of optimal remediation end-points that provide least cost and maximum benefit solutions using analytical and numerical methods.
- Experience in presenting complex calculations and rationale to regulatory agencies and negotiating practical closure criteria.
XDD staff has performed projects in nearly every state in the United States and in several foreign countries.
